Albino Flying Dragon – Unique detail on a great bike. Formerly owned by a well-known Falconer from West Harrison, Indiana. He laid down the Wimbledon white base paint many years ago after painting his 1935 Chevrolet Model EB Master pickup and only recently decided to sell. The motor was rebuilt in the past few years and when his health wouldn’t allow him to ride through the forests on his property, he decided to sell her. He said it was the first thing he’d ever sold in his life. He’s in his early 60’s, I think! I bought it because I’ve always liked the Scrambler style of bike. One day I found an article about the Flying Dragon paint scheme being applied using a process known as hydro dipping, also referred to as immersion painting, water marbling or water transfer. The paint process involved dipping the parts in a vat of water with paint floating on the surface, creating a swirl pattern that was impossible to duplicate. This custom paint set was available for the 1972 and 1973 CL350 and CL450 models, and it was a limited offering that added a distinctive touch to the motorcycle’s appearance. The Flying Dragon paint scheme is now considered a vintage classic and is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. That being said, I decided to try my hand at it with some leftover paint that I’d been using on my old pickup. It didn’t turn out like I had imagined but, after three coats of chemical/UV resistant clear on the tank and tins, it grows on you and low and behold the Albino Flying Dragon was born. If a person has a set of those tins, here is the bike to put them on, all for a fraction of what she could be worth. Bike doesn't have the toolbox, everything works, runs great, 5-spd. transmission, tires are like new, pipes in excellent condition, clean WV Title in my name, I've moved on to other projects, front brakes could use adjustment.
